Eric Day has lived in southern Nevada for nearly 40 years. During his time in college, Eric worked as a tax compliance officer, auditor, and legal extern for the Internal Revenue Service. After graduating from the Loyola Law School with his Master of Laws in Taxation, Eric worked as a tax attorney for businesses, consulting them on their IRS conflicts, helping them deal with local and federal taxing agencies, and preparing their taxes and tax plans.

How It All Started

As Eric worked on audit cases for the IRS, he saw first-hand how stressful it is for everyday people and businesses to manage their taxes. When they were audited, they had very little knowledge of what the IRS could and couldn’t do, and that pressure caused them high levels of frustration and anxiety. Eric developed a passion for representing them, and he thought back to his father, who was also an attorney. He ultimately decided to go to law school so that he could help people understand how to best present their case to the IRS.

My greatest passion is helping you overcome a tax problem you thought was impossible to overcome.

You’ll find that Eric’s key strength is his combined background in business, law, and taxes. If you’re being audited by the IRS, Eric reminds you that you still have hope. The tax auditor has to follow a strict set of rules, and Eric has a deep understanding of what these rules are. He may encourage you to go to tax court because he knows that the IRS will be much more willing to work out a deal with you — and that they may settle before you ever go to court.

Successful Stories

This experience and understanding have helped a number of his clients in what originally seemed like hopeless situations. For instance, one of his clients owed $10,000 to the IRS. Eric knew exactly who to talk to about the case and how to present the information, and these simple steps dropped his client’s debt from $10,000 to $300. Another client owed $40,000 and there was no way she would win in a tax court. Eric still encouraged her to go to court, encouraging her to be patient with the IRS’ regulations, and her debt ended up being slashed in half.

Eric is prepared to bring that same level of grit to your tax case. If you’re being audited, have received a tax lien or levy, or just need some tax planning help, Eric will help you make sense of your taxes.

In his free time, Eric enjoys doing whatever his four daughters are doing. He spends much of his time coaching his daughters’ basketball and soccer teams, driving his daughters to dance classes, and being active in any kind of sports-related activity.
